Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start a game?
On the home screen, tap any of the six difficulty cards. The board is ready immediately. Your first tap is always safe — the mines are placed after your first move so you never lose on the opening click.
What are the six difficulty levels?
Beginner (9×9, 10 mines), Intermediate (9×12, 20 mines), Expert (9×16, 30 mines), Ultra (16×16, 50 mines), Hell (16×30, 99 mines), and Custom (you choose the board size from 9–36 columns by 9–64 rows, and the number of mines).
How does Custom difficulty work?
Choose any board width between 9 and 36 columns, any height between 9 and 64 rows, and any mine count from 1 up to (rows × columns) − 1. The configuration is saved to your device and applied the next time you play Custom.
How do I flag a cell I think is a mine?
Two ways: long-press a closed cell to drop or remove a flag, or tap the flag icon in the toolbar to enter “flag mode” and then tap cells normally to toggle flags. The mine counter at the top shows remaining mines minus flags.
What is chord tap?
When a revealed number is surrounded by exactly that many flags, tap the number again to auto-reveal all remaining unflagged neighbors. This is the classic “chord” shortcut from desktop Minesweeper.
What does the “Hint” button do?
It reveals one random safe cell. Use it when you are truly stuck — but note that hint reveals do count as normal moves and the timer keeps running.
Where are my best times stored?
Locally on your device only, in iOS UserDefaults (one record per difficulty level). We have no access to them, and they are removed permanently when you delete the app.
Does the app need an internet connection?
No. The game is 100% offline — no network access at any time, no leaderboard, no cloud sync, no ads, no analytics.
Do I need an account or login?
No. The app has no account system, no ads, and no in-app purchases.
How do I switch the interface language?
Home screen → Settings → Language. Choose from 16 languages; the change takes effect immediately.
What are the system requirements?
iOS 16.0 or later. The app supports iPhone and iPad, in both portrait and landscape orientation.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app from your device. All locally stored data (difficulty choice, custom configuration, best times, and language preference) is removed together with the app.
